VivaTech 2020 will not be cancelled due to Coronavirus, as several events have done in Europe in recent months. The dates of 11 to 13 June 2020 are being maintained by Publicis Groupe and the Les Echos-Le Parisien Group, organisers of this event which has become Europe's number one startup and tech event, making Paris the Tech Capital for three days of meetings around innovation.
In a press release published on 09 March 2020, the organisers state that "VivaTech is aware that the situation is special with the coronavirus and has a thought for all those affected around the world. With the event taking place in more than 3 months, the dates of June 11th to 13th are maintained. The health and safety of visitors, partners and teams is the priority. VivaTech's management is in regular contact with the relevant authorities to follow and respect all their recommendations. The whole team is working hard to make this 5th edition a great success".
And to make it a success, VivaTech is strengthening its international dimension with new country pavilions with an even richer Afric@Tech area. Thus, the organizers announce in this regard that five African countries are coming to VivaTech for the first time: Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Tunisia. To these countries that will have a pavilion at VivaTech for the first time, Pakistan must be added.
Also, several other African countries have already confirmed their presence. Among them, South Africa, Algeria, Mauritius, the Kingdom of Morocco and Senegal, already accustomed to this event.
At Prosygma Sarl, we remain pessimistic about the holding of VivaTech 2020 when we see all the strong measures that are being taken by the leaders of African and European countries in the face of the coronavirus which is increasing its progression in Europe and Africa.
