Zoom is the cloud meeting platform that allows you to participate in virtual conferences with video, audio and screen sharing options. Zoom is a great way to keep doing business when so many people have to work from home.
How do I set up a meeting?
If you want to hold your own Zoom meeting, rather than joining someone else's, you will need to have the client installed. Download the application from the Zoom Download Center by choosing the download button under "Zoom Meeting Client".
Once you have installed Zoom, log in to be greeted by a series of different icons. You should see an orange icon with a camera that says "New Meeting".
When you select this option, you will be taken to a new virtual conference room.
At the bottom of the conference window you will find a "Participants" option. Click on it
On the right pane, click on the "Invite" button. When you click on this icon, you are invited to invite people to your meeting. You can do this from your contact list or by typing a list of email addresses.
Once you have invited the desired people, you must wait in your virtual room for the participants to join you.
If you need to close the meeting for any reason and create a new one, be sure to click the "End Meeting" button in the lower right corner of the window before starting a new one.
