African Talents 2023 is launched !

Are you passionate about comics? The National Institute of Fine Arts of Tetouan (Morocco) in partnership with the Chouf association are organising the African comic strip competition "African Talents".

This competition is part of the sixteenth edition of the Tetouan International Comics Forum (FIBD - Tetouan 16) scheduled from 9 to 13 May 2023. It is open free of charge to African comics creators who are over 17 years old and have never been professionally published.

Each creator must send a comic strip presenting a "complete story with a title in French, Arabic, English or without words, in one, two or three original panels maximum (printouts are considered original), in black and white or in colour, in addition to a cover clearly bearing the title of the comic strip, in A3 format... The theme is free. All styles and genres are allowed, subject to respect for public order and good morals".

In addition to these elements, the creator must provide his or her biography, previous work, sketches or research, and CV.

The jury will select ten applications to take part in the competition, then choose three of them and finally the best. The ten entries selected at the beginning of the competition will be displayed in an exhibition called "African Talent 2023 Exhibition". The list will be made public by 2 May 2023 at the latest on the Chouf website and its official pages.

The authors of the 3 best entries will receive their prizes during the official ceremony of the forum.

NB : Entries must be sent by email before 25 April 2023 to fibadet@gmail.com. The rules of the competition are available here.
