CAMEROON: interconnection of customs, transport and tax information systems

In Cameroon, the administration is taking another step forward in its gradual progress towards the complete digitisation of its services. This is particularly true with the entry into service of a platform for interconnecting the IT applications of three administrations: the Ministry of Transport's Document and Transport Ticket Security System (SSDT), the Customs Automated System (SYDONIA) of the Customs Directorate General (DGD) and the Tax Information System (FISCALIS) of the Tax Directorate General (DGI).

"The said platform will promote collaboration and data exchange between interconnected computer systems.  The interconnection platform proposed in the specifications recommends: the implementation of an exchange server or swap in each system. The MINT Swap server will contain all the information on the registration documents of registered motor vehicles as defined in the exchange protocol. The DGD exchange server will store the information contained on customs clearance certificates for imported motor vehicles. Finally, the DGI exchange server will collect all the data displayed on motor vehicle registration receipts," explains Cameroon Customs.
