CHAD - Internet: Forum on Internet Governance in Africa Ndjamena

The Chadian capital Ndjamena has been chosen by the African Union to host the 2019 edition of the Forum on Internet Governance in Africa. This 8th edition will take place from 10 to 12 September 2019 under the theme: "Shared responsibilities of stakeholders for a robust Internet governance ecosystem". The objective is to promote the sustainability, security, stability and development of the Internet, by facilitating the development of content, access to information and knowledge.

According to Kalzeubé Pahimi Deubet, Minister Secretary General of the Chadian Presidency who chairs the organizing committee, this event will bring together African ministers in charge of ICT and more than 300 experts and participants. It should be noted that the African Internet Governance Forum is a follow-up to the Global Internet Governance Forum that was institutionalized in 2011 by the United Nations General Assembly. Its aim is to promote access to information and knowledge and ensure Africa's digital transformation.
