Windows 7: Users will receive end-of-service alerts in January

10  of good services, Microsoft's operating system will no longer receive security updates and will be vulnerable to viruses and malware.

Windows 7 is at the end of its life and Microsoft wants to make this known. The publisher has just announced that a notification will appear in full screen from January 15 to indicate the risks of continuing to use the operating system. Indeed, Windows 7 will no longer receive security updates and a possible new vulnerability will not be fixed. The notification will appear on Starter, Basic Home, Premium Home, Professional and Operating System Integral editions.

Companies that want to continue using Windows 7 can do so by purchasing the Extended Security Updates (ESU) option, which allows them to continue to receive security updates. Hackers have been able to get this service for free, but Microsoft could quickly fix the problem.

For the latest versions of Windows 10, Microsoft has provided the following end of service dates:

Windows 10 1909: May 11, 2021 (May 10, 2022 for the Enterprise and Education editions).

Windows 10 1903: December 8, 2020.

Windows 10 1809: May 12, 2020 (May 11, 2021 for the Enterprise and Education editions).
