Cameroon: The Autonomous Port of Kribi launches the selection of IT solutions to become an

In order to become a "Smart Port", the general management of the Autonomous Port of Kribi (PAK) has just organized a hackathon in March 2021. This event, explains the PAK, consists in the selection of the best operational IT solutions proposed by the competing teams and corresponding to the problems or themes identified and posed by the PAK in relation to the development of the port.

"With its vision of positioning itself as a Smart Port, the PAK places at the heart of its concerns, the hope that all partners, customers, employees, technical administrations, users, or any other stakeholders, can benefit, as part of their operations, from the services provided to them in the port of Kribi," explains the port authority.

Participation in the event is free of charge and reserved for teams composed of individuals who have reached the age of majority at the time of hackathon registration. The age limit is 35 years old. Deliverables are governed by the provisions of the "Free License". This is an intellectual property rights concession agreement allowing the licensee to copy, modify and distribute the deliverable, free of charge, throughout the world, for the duration of the rights, on any medium and for any type of exploitation according to the terms and conditions set out in the license.

Commissioned in March 2018, the deepwater port of Kribi, which claims the largest draught on the West African coast (16 meters), currently has two terminals. A 350-meter long container terminal, operated by the Bolloré-CHEC-CMA CGM consortium and a multipurpose terminal, managed by International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI). With the solutions that will be proposed during the Hackathon, the port authority now wants to give an intelligent dimension to the port square, particularly in terms of automation and computerization of several services.

Deadline for response is March 05, 2021.
